As I’m reading about the today’s shelling in Donestk, Ukraine, killing 4 people, I’m deeply saddened. News from Donetsk and other places I’ve visited tends to jump out more for me personally – a tendency I think many of you can relate to. We feel loss more deeply within groups we can identify with because it reminds ourselves that it could have been “us”. Perhaps one day we’ll realize “us” is everyone and doesn’t require a “them” on the other side.
