If there’s one thing most people can agree on in the world, it’s that they’re unhappy with their governments. This is why if you’re worried about locals disliking you due to your country’s politics, don’t – as the universal understanding is that representative democracies often do a poor job of representing the people they are supposed to represent.
Just remember the same about the folks you encounter while traveling or coming to visit your city. Then ask them what their favorite dish is from back home – because passion for that is pretty universal too.
